How is the CIS estimate made?

Each row of the table is one monthly barometer of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS), Spain's public opinion institute, shown as the CIS publishes it. A party's share is the CIS's estimate of its part of the valid vote, which the CIS works out from the answers of its survey with a model of its own; it is not a count of what people said. This page makes no average of polls, no forecast and no seat projection. If the CIS replaces a file, this page follows. The CIS has not made or endorsed this page.

Spanish law bans publishing opinion polls in the five days before an election. This page shows no poll published in those days or on polling day itself, when the polling stations close at 20:00 (Madrid time). Spanish electoral law (LOREG), article 69.7, read .
